Ricardo Ortiz Cano is a researcher at CICECO – Aveiro Institute of Materials in Portugal, where he works within the Advanced Modelling Lab. He holds a PhD in Materials Science from the University of Alicante (2021), focused on the electronic and spin properties of nanographenes.

Before joining CICECO, he carried out postdoctoral research at the Donostia International Physics Center (DIPC), investigating quantum correlations in graphene-based nanostructures. His work mainly combines theoretical and computational approaches to study the electronic and magnetic properties of carbon-based and organic materials.
