Jose Lado is an Assistant Professor at Aalto University in Finland. He did his PhD work at the International Iberian Nanotechnology Laboratory in Braga, Portugal, between 2013-2016. In 2017 he moved to ETH Zurich, Switzerland, where he was a postdoctoral ETH Fellow at the Institute for Theoretical Physics. In 2019 he joined Aalto University, in Finland, as a Tenure-Track Assistant Professor at the Department of Applied Physics, where he leads the Correlated Quantum Materials group. His research focuses on the theoretical engineering of quantum materials featuring emergent collective quantum macroscopic states, for which his group brings together theoretical material science, quantum many-body physics, and machine learning for quantum materials.
